BCMHC

Adolescent Coaching, Family Coaching

In the complexity of life and family we often find ourselves needing gentle guidance. I work with teens and adults; coming as individuals, families or couples, from 8 years old to 55 years old. I draw from therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Mental Health Coaching.

Together we develop skills to help each client navigate life’s challenges in the ares of loss, change, anxiety, depression and relationship boundary issues.

My Professional Counseling Degree and certification as a Board Certified Mental Health Coach (BCMHC) has equipped me to combine a therapeutic approach as well as practical application of skills learned in session. I believe in the mental health crisis we are facing today, families need help with emotional awareness as well as step by step guidance on how to walk in emotional freedom.

Feel free to contact me and allow me to walk hand in hand with you on your journey to mental wholeness.

Individual Counseling

I love meeting people where they are and joining them on their journey, so kudos to you for taking the first step. I have a background in criminal justice which led me to obtaining a graduate degree in counseling. I work with late teens and up and together we can create a roadmap toward well-being.

My approach is characterized by empathy, active listening, and collaboration. I attempt to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs, whether they’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief or the stressors of daily life. Clients can expect a compassionate partner on their journey toward healing and growth.

Starting with the initial session, as well as throughout future sessions, I want to know what your goals are for therapy. By collaborating together, you will leave with actionable steps, renewed motivation, and a sense of empowerment to enhance your well-being, and achieve personal growth.

Sessions with Janice begin at $150. Janice takes BCBS, Aetna, and Cigna

Marta Vecchio

Massage Therapy/Body Work

Marta is a massage therapist, massage therapy instructor, and business owner. She attended massage school at Ke Kino Massage Academy & Institute of Healing in Plano, TX, where she wore many hats while employed there from 2015-2022. In July of 2022, she co-founded The Haven, a bodywork and lactation cooperative.

Marta’s training includes Craniosacral Fascial Therapy in the Gillespie Approach, CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute, Visceral Manipulation with the Barral Institute, as well as TMJD massage, lymphatic drainage, myofascial therapy, scar therapy, postpartum recovery, pregnancy massage, infant massage, and reflexology. In addition, Marta has attained specialized knowledge around TOTS (tethered oral tissues, “tongue ties”) and recently completed her training in Myofunctional Therapy.

Marta’s bodywork sessions are individually crafted to attend to the needs of each client she serves. Anything she has studied may be used during a bodywork session, depending on a client’s body tightness, history of trauma, accidents, surgeries, flexibility, how they breathe, diagnoses, medications, diet, workout habits, daily job, family life, etc. Culture pretty much keeps everyone folded up, tense, and in a forward posture, causing our bodies to make hundreds of compensations daily just to get through, and that tightness becomes a person’s new norm, unbeknownst to them.

Prior to finding her purpose in the massage world, Marta graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Music, sang with the Dallas Opera Chorus, worked in corporate HR, and completed the first year of graduate studies in Music Therapy at the University of Kansas and in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary.
