Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a psychotherapy approach designed to help individuals process and overcome traumatic memories and distressing experiences. During an EMDR session, the therapist helps the client focus on a specific traumatic memory while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation.
